I’m one of those routine-happy people who spends each Sunday afternoon washing their sheets. I love the smell of freshly laundered bedding and the feeling of soft, clean sheets against your skin. I love knowing that whatever dirt, hair or dust was left behind from our Airedale Terrier, Charlie, laying on our bed during the day when we are out is diminished. I just really, really love clean sheets.
That being said, we have a duvet comforter, and one of the biggest pains of keeping our bedding clean each week is dealing with the duvet and insert. I’ll be honest when I say that I don’t wash the duvet every week, but a lot of that stems from the frustration I feel when trying to put the insert back into the duvet once it’s cleaned. I hate that no matter what I do, it always takes two people and at least ten minutes (or one person and far longer) to get the corners all lined up, the wrinkles released, and the insert situated well enough for it to lay nicely on the bed. To put it lightly, washing the duvet is a necessary but completely, totally exhausting evil.
So when Pinion Pins—a little device used to fasten duvet covers and comforters, curtains and slipcovers, embellish clothing, hang decorations and banners, etc.—contacted me to review their product, I was ecstatic. It couldn’t have come at a better time! I waited on pins and needles (pun intended) for the package to arrive, and their lightening-fast shipping allowed it to be delivered on my doorstep a day after they promised to ship it. Talk about excellent customer service.

My Thoughts:
If I’m being candid, I didn’t do much research before receiving the pins. I just hoped the directions would all be easy to understand once they arrived, and they definitely were.
The Pinion Pins arrived in a plastic container with a set of eight pins, one magnetic key, and brief instructions. Simple to open; simple instructions attached. I was so excited to try them out that I rushed to wash our bedding early.
Fresh from the dryer, I made the bed and prepared to wrestle with the love-it-but-also-sort-of-hate-it duvet. The idea of what I would do was simple enough: lay out the duvet, insert the down comforter, fasten each corner using a Pinion Pin, button the bottom, and smooth out the wrinkles. To fasten the pins, all I did was insert the pin then cover it with the included cap. Easy peasy.
The pins were as simple to use as they sound, and guess what? I had no issues getting the duvet lined up, the insert in place, and no shifting when I shook it all out to get rid of wrinkles and spread out the insert within the duvet. I swear it cut my time in half! I was a little concerned that the raised cap would bother me or that I would notice it when I moved around in my sleep, but it hasn’t and I didn’t.
Overall, I couldn’t be happier with these pins. For an awesome product that’s worth the hype I’m giving it, check out and buy yourself this nifty little product! With enough on our minds, why spend unnecessary time dealing with a stubborn duvet? Might as well make it all easier with a product like this.
