TERRO Fruit Fly Traps Review & Giveaway

Its summer and the fruit flies are full force!  I hate bugs! Any kind of bugs, but I really hate fruit flies with a passion!  No matter what I do or how often I make sure my kitchen stays spotless I am always greeted by these stupid little things!

Fruit flies are tiny winged insects that boast a meager length of 0.2 inches (3mm). They are brownish in color, with striped bodies and relatively large red eyes. They are perfectly adept in smelling food from great distances. With their great sense of smell and tiny bodies, fruit flies can maneuver into your kitchen through window screens, door jams, or any other crack in your home. Occasionally, they may catch a ride in your grocery bags or hatch from eggs laid in less than fresh food brought home from a grocery store.

A congregation of fruit flies can become a nuisance. Fruit flies feed on alcohol, which is produced when fruits and vegetables begin to ferment. The alcohol in wine, beer, and other alcoholic beverages is also appealing to fruit flies. Fruit flies not only feed on these foods, but also lay eggs in them that hatch into larvae in a matter of hours. In almost the blink of an eye, fruit flies can infest any kitchen and cause total annoyance.

We have tried everything on the market and even tried homemade remedies to get rid of them but nothing was working like I wanted!  Then I was asked to review the new Terro Fruit Fly Trap. This couldn’t have come at the perfect time! TERRO, an industry leader in pest control products for homeowners, is making it easy to get rid of these irritating pests with a highly effective new product.  New TERRO Fruit Fly Traps not only get rid of fruit flies, they are environmentally safe and the apple-shaped trap looks right at home in any kitchen. Of Course I agreed to test this. I am willing to try to do anything to get rid of these stupid things!. TERRO Fruit Fly Trap is designed to lure adult fruit flies, using a special food based liquid lure. Flies that enter the trap can’t escape to continue breeding. Traps are most effective when placed near breeding sites.

I admit at first I didn’t think this would work any better than my homemade remedy of vinegar in two-liter bottle.  However after watching it for the first hour and seeing all the flies around the Trap but none actually going into it I was thinking this was not going to work!  I just left and went on about my day.  A few hours later when I came in the kitchen I was very happy to see that all those stupid flies had went into the trap!!  So Far I am very pleased with the products and since the trap is actually a cute little apple it looks nicer sitting out than my other pervious ideas that I have tried!

So I urge anyone that is getting annoyed with fruit flies like I was to buy this product and give it a try. For only around $8.00 you have nothing to lose but fruit flies!

This blog came at the perfect time! We went away for almost a month & somehow the stupid little buggers showed up! I’ve been home & fighting with them for a week. They seem to be resistant to any trap method I’ve made so far and I’ve been looking for an alternative. I need these!!
