The last couple of weeks have been really busy around here. My daughter Jada, the social butterfly she is has decided to join almost all before and after school clubs they have. Since this is her last year in elementary school, I’m glad that she is making lifelong memories. However, I have to admit that I am most excited about her joining the TV News crew as lead reporter. I’m amazed how she has grown out of her shyness over the years.
Last week, I shared with you that we were going to attend the US Weekly’s Family Movie night hosted by Orville Redenbacher’s Popcorn. The event was at the Avalon in Alpharetta, GA and the weather was perfect for a movie in the park. My teenagers decided Saturday morning that they didn’t want to go! I was a little upset since I wanted this to be a fun family evening for us all, but of course, I understood. However, I wasn’t going to let that ruin Jada’s fun since she was very excited about the evening. So, I decided to let her take two of our neighbors who are also her best friends. The girls were super excited about spending the evening with each other. The truth is I am actually glad that our plans had changed because the kids had so much fun, and to be honest the event was geared more for smaller kids than teens. This also meant I didn’t have to deal with my teenagers complaining the whole time!
There was a reporter there interviewing and taking pictures, and of course he asks did anyone want to speak, and one of the first people who volunteered was Jada! She took his microphone and acted like she was a pro! He had a lot of fun with Jada because she is a natural-born talker like her mom.
The girls also enjoyed taking silly pictures for their flipbook that was provided and enjoying the unlimited popcorn. After all the fun activities and meeting new friends, it was movie time! The girls really enjoyed watching the movie outdoors and now begging us to do this in our neighborhood so all their friends can enjoy a movie outside. I have to admit that is a great idea! So, guess who is now planning an outdoor movie party outside Halloween weekend?
