Happy Mother’s Day from Fisher Price! Our Mother’s Day wish for you… and other Moms too! Forget sleepless nights – enjoy a relaxing, playful day! You’ve earned a day to celebrate being a mom!
It’s hard to believe Sunday is Mother’s Day! After watching the video above, it brought back so many memories. This year will be my 16th year that I have been able to officially celebrate motherhood! As an adult and a mom now I have so much more appreciation for my mother, grandmother, and aunts. Looking back at my own motherhood journey over the year it brings so much emotion. As a young teen mom I admit I wasn’t prepared for all the ups and downs that parents go through! Sure, everyone had stories, tips, and advice before my son was born but it wasn’t in till I experienced it first hand that I fully grasped how much my life was going to change. I didn’t know how many roles I would play to this little person from mom, ,cook, nurse, coach, teacher, good cop, bad cop and of course friend my roles are always changing. I also didn’t know the love and joy this tiny person could bring to my life.
Now that my older two kids are teens, I often look back and think about things I would have done different. I think the one and only thing I personally would have done is enjoy those little moments longer. Instead of trying to have everything perfect or worrying if my house was spotless, I would have took more time out of my day to just “Play” more with my kids. They grow up so fast and before you know it, they are becoming adults! Other then that I can honestly say, I wouldn’t change a thing! Even those sleepless nights when I wanted to pull my hair out or the days where I secretly wished someone would stop by and want to take them off my hand a couple of hours! It’s all been worth it! As mother’s we try so hard to make sure everything runs smoothly and everything is perfect that sometimes we forget to just step back and enjoy our kids! So this Mother’s Day I don’t need any special gifts or card I just want to enjoy time with my family and cherish these little moments that go by so fast!
So, On Sunday May 11, 2014 take the time to appreciate yourself and enjoy your children. Enjoy this day and relax. Who cares if your house isn’t spotless or what’s for dinner!? This is YOUR day, so enjoy it and know that the when your kid’s become adults themself they will appreciate the little things more then what you think!
