Recently I shared with about our family road trip and the many attractions that we did while we were in Pigeon Forge and the Gatlinburg areas. As you know our goal was to find the perfect kid and teen friendly spots that not only offer something for them but also fun for everyone including us PARENTS without breaking the bank! So, we decided to put Wilderness of the Smokies to the test and we are so glad that we did! As a blogger, I had seen other bloggers doing reviews for the Wilderness of the Smokies, so I decided to contact them to see if they would be interested in being showcased on my blog. Since our schedule was already booked, we decided to stay just one night and day courtesy of the Wilderness of the Smokies. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are in the process of planning on returning so we can stay longer!
Parents, If you are looking for the ultimate summer road trip for you and your family, Wilderness of the Smokies in breathtaking Sevierville, Tennessee is truly an epic vacation destination. Located just outside of the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg areas, not only is this resort conveniently located in a bustling area with plenty of activities and entertainment opportunities, but also the establishment itself is full of excitement and family fun. Kids of all ages will delight in the phenomenal indoor and outdoor parks. In fact, there is not one, not two, but three separate park areas that feature a plethora of slides, pools, and water attractions. The best part is complimentary water park passes are included with your stay.
From jungle gyms with sprayers and squirt guns to the surf rider simulator, the indoor park at Wilderness provides climate controlled temperatures for year round fun. The lazy river, plunging vertical free fall drop slide and exclusive private cabanas are just a few of the features of the outdoor parks. Once your family has gotten their fill of waterpark fun, Wilderness of the Smokies also provides a myriad of indoor activities like laser tag, rock climbing, ropes course, thrill rides, and black light mini-golf. In addition to an adventurous climbing gym, there is even an arcade and indoor mini-bowling experience. Paint your own pottery, golf, and white water rafting are other activities facilitated by the attentive staff at this resort. Guests are also provided with various discounts and tickets to a variety of local attractions.
Wilderness offers a variety of different room accommodations ranging from a basic king or two-queen bed to private villas that sleep up to 16 people, which is perfect for groups small and large! Our room was the Bunk Suite and fit us perfect! But to be honest we really didn’t stay in our room much at all! With so many activates to keep everyone busy the only time we were in our room is to sleep and shower.
On site dining options include various grills, snack bars, delis, and full restaurant service eateries so you don’t even have to leave the complex, and best of all, kids under the age of twelve eat free with a paying adult! However, I will be honest we decided to go grab something to eat at other locations. Some of the prices were a little high especially when it comes to my picky eaters!

Our Final Thoughts:
We really enjoyed our time at Wilderness of the Smokies. When we got there, it was raining (just our luck) but thankfully, we were still able to enjoy the indoor waterpark and other indoor activities. After the rain had passed and the sun came back out, we got to enjoy the great outdoor waterparks! I have to admit the outside parks were our favorite! The outside part closed at 8pm so after that we went back inside and enjoyed the rest of the time in the inside water area till around 10. Then we headed back to our room to shower and of course the boys was happy they could watch the basketball game! Thankfully, we had 2 TV’s in the room so us girls were able to watch our shows. The kids were worn out and fell asleep in no time! The next morning we checked out and were still able to enjoy the water park but since we already had a big day plan, we were on our way. The kids didn’t want to leave at all! To be honest I didn’t either! So we promised them we would plan a trip back so they could enjoy a couple of days with no other plans or obligations. I feel that this is perfect summer getaway for kids of all ages! The prices are not expensive as I thought they would be for rooms and since they do include the water park passes it makes it even a better deal. However, let me add that tickets for attractions at adventure forest are NOT included but resort guest get a discount rate off 50% off.
