Yesterday was the first day of school for my kids! So I’m sure you seen all our back to school pictures on Instagram and Facebook yesterday and this morning. When my oldest started Pre-K, I started the tradition of taking photos to capture the memories for the first and last day of school. I also take a lot of pictures throughout the year for their own personal scrapbooks. we do one for elementary, one for Middle School and of course one for High School. I plan to hand them over to each child when they move out. It’s amazing to look back and see how much they change in just one year. This allows them to share their memories with their own children when they have a family.
The kids are so used to it now they even remind me now to take the pictures before they leave! With my son a sophomore now and my oldest daughter a freshman, yesterday morning was bitter sweet. It also means that I need to start my daughter’s High School Scrapbook soon! I am so amazed how fast these years passed. It seems just like yesterday they were just starting Pre-K! That’s why it’s so important for me to always capture those memories so we are able to look back over the years.
With all the new technology out there today compared to when my kids started school its so much easier to make sure you never miss those moments. I am always snapping photos on my iPhone and printing them directly from apps on the go. I am still that type of person that wants a hard copy of my pictures instead of having them all on my devices or in my icloud photo storage. To be honest I don’t think I could fully trust my devices and back ups so having 1-2 hard copies of my most important photos is a must!
So, if you missed my pictures here are a few of my favorites. I know that over the years you have also watched my kids grow up through my many pictures so it’s only fair that I share them on my own blog!
Be sure to check back Tomorrow for my throw back Thursday back to school pictures! And to see more of our first week pictures of back to school be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram!
So the question of the day is what moments do you like capturing?
