Are the kids asleep? On a playdate? Hiding somewhere in the house and for some mysterious reason not demanding your attention? Now’s your chance! Free time is meant to be taken advantage of, so don’t waste another second. Whether you’re a stay at home mom or a mom that’s constantly on the go, here are some ideas on how you can spend your spare time:
Pick up a hobby
This is the sort of hobby that you want to be able to easily pick up and put down so that you can make the most of it. When you’ve got a 10-minute time slot to do what you want you don’t want to spend half of that time setting up your equipment. So, metalworking can be a hobby you save for when the kids are at Uni. Writing, reading, sewing and sketching, on the other hand, are A-Okay.
Make your skin silky smooth
It isn’t until you have kids that you realize how much effort it takes to cleanse and tone and moisturize and blah blah. But, a warm bath, on the other hand, actually requires very little effort. So, if you don’t have time to go through a whole-body beauty regimen, use the bath to do some of the work for you. An oatmeal bath will make your skin feel so soft. When you run your bath add a little handful of oats (for soft skin), some lavender (to help you unwind), a dash of milk (for exfoliation), green tea (for toning), or some honey (anti-aging) to get all of the goodness you need from just a 20 minute soak in the tub. However, you should be cautious not to try to add all of these ingredients to the same bath, otherwise you’re bound to smell very strange when you step out. After your bath, rub some cocoa butter or coconut oil on your skin to seal in the silky softness.
Get your heart pumping
People that exercise regularly live longer, happier healthier lives, and you could be one of those people. Just a little bit of gentle exercise every day can make a big improvement and, for only recently made mums, light exercise can get you your strength back and improve your mood dramatically. Take a bike around the park, swim a few lengths in the pool, play on the Wii for a while or simply put on your favorite song to dance around and get back some of that youthful energy you’ve been sorely missing.
Play some games
Games can be an easy way to wind down and the great thing about games is that you can simply put them on pause while your kid needs to be put back to bed and then return to finishing them later. Whether you’re into computer games, crosswords or board games, having a bit of fun can make the troubles of the day seem like a million miles away. A lot of moms have found that online casinos are a great way to spend a bit of free time. At http://www.bestdealcasinos.com/ you can compare online casinos and play some slots every now and then.
When all else fails…
When you’re worn out beyond repair and a reasonably flat surface is available, there’s nothing wrong with a little nap.
