Petz Nursery is a new game available on the Nintendo DS that allows players to take care of small baby animals as though you really own them. From My point of view as a mother this game is fantastic because not only is it fun but it is simultaneously teaching my kids responsibility and nurturing. Petz Nursery is a game that involves a lot of interactive responsibilities for the children playing such as feeding their pets milk, cleaning up after their pets, and providing adequate shelter. My Kids liked the fact that you could choose from a variety of pets at the pet store and then enjoy a host of fun activities with their pets as they raised them such as singing songs, and letting the different animals play with each other. As you move through the game you even have access to more nontraditional animals such as polar bears and tigers. Imagine my surprise when my daughter was letting her baby kitten play with a Panda Bear.
In addition to how much fun and learning happens while you are playing this game, Petz Nursery is also compatible with other games in the series like Petz: Dogz Talent Show and Petz: Hamsterz Superstarz. You can then send your baby pets to these other games and track their progress. With the multitude of options regarding the pets you can choose and all of the fun activities and nurturing responsibilities available for each player this game is one of the best combinations of fun and learning that I have seen in recent video games. If there was any criticism my kids had it was that as they first started playing the game these enormous options and ability to essentially make your own way through the game was a bit confusing as they didn’t know exactly what to do first. However once we figured that out it has been nonstop fun. This is a perfect game to get your kids as the holidays approach. It is designed for ages 6-12, but even my 4 year old daughter enjoys playing it and I do too!
