Discover Mills Celebrates Tax-Free Shopping With Back-To-School Fashion Show & Extra Savings

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA (July 30, 2012) – Discover Mills, the largest outlet and value retail shopping destination in the state, will once again celebrate Georgia’s Tax-Free Holiday, Friday, August 10 through Saturday, August 11. During this time, shoppers will enjoy a sales-tax exemption* and deeper discounts on select essentials including apparel, footwear, electronics, backpacks and more for the upcoming school year.

According to the National Retail Federation, nearly 50 percent of this year’s back-to-school shoppers will shop for sales more often and nearly 40 percent will look to use coupons. In conjunction with the tax-free holiday, Discover Mills will provide shoppers with two days of even deeper discounts and special offers from participating retailers, including Carter’s Outlet, The Children’s Place Outlet, Guess Factory Store, Tommy Hilfiger Company Store, Gymboree Outlet, Skechers and many more.

Plus, back-to-school shoppers will enjoy Discover Mills’ Back-to-School fashion show, featuring Last Call by Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH, Off Broadway Shoes, Kenneth Cole Outlet, Nike Factory Store, Sun & Ski Sports, Skechers, Stride Rite Outlet, and Levi’s Outlet on Saturday, August 11 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in the food court. Live entertainment provided by Virtual Adrenaline Productions will also be provided throughout the day in the food court.

*Items qualifying for the tax exempt holiday include; clothing and footwear with a sales price of $100 or less per item and a single purchase, with a sales price of $1,000 or less, of personal computers and personal computer-related accessories; General school supplies to be used in the classroom or in classroom-related activities with a sales price of $20.00 or less per item.
