If it’s not clear to you let, let me shout something from the roof: I love Georgia and I love living here. There are amazing sights to visit, so much culture, the food is incredible, and it is booming with small businesses that deserve our attention. That’s why today, I want to share this post about 5 Georgia businesses with stellar reviews. These places below all have amazing reviews on Google (and other platforms) and they are loved by the community! Check them out:
Jekyll Ocean Club
Let’s start far down in South Georgia – almost as far down South as you can get, before you cross into Florida waters. Jekyll Ocean Club (and their historic Jekyll Island Resort) has amazing reviews. If you are looking to travel to Georgia for a vacation, this is a fantastic stop. Jekyll Island is adorable and this resort is top notch! Last time I was there, the cast from The Walking Dead was filming and staying on the island – at the Jekyll Ocean Club! In fact, I sat right next to some of the main characters by the pool a couple of days in a row. That was a pretty cool experience! That aside, Jekyll Ocean Club provides a great close-up view to the ocean (the property is directly on the beach – and it includes free beach chairs with your stay), the pool is beautiful & it includes poolside service, and the food is amazing. They have a wood fire oven that they use for all of their pizzas and I cannot tell you how good they are. Try the seafood pizza and you won’t be let down.
The Jekyll Ocean Club is a great place for parents trying to get away, but it’s also a fantastic location if you are bringing the kids along with you. There were a lot of kids there when I visited and around the holidays, they have really fun workshops and events for all of the kids.
Good Kitchen & Market
Good Kitchen & Market is located in Marietta, GA, and they have the best healthy options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks too. Located right by the hospital in Marietta (Kennestone Hospital), they are committed to serving “good” food and coffee. Plus, organic wine and local beers are on the menu. They have a fantastic kids menu, and offer some toys that kids can bring to their tables, just in case they get bored. The family that owns the shop treats every single one of their customers like family and really tries to get to know them. That small touch definitely keeps patrons coming back for more (the amazing food helps, too!).
So, why is it called Good? They say, “What’s our definition of Good food? More vegetables, thoughtfully-sourced protein, quality grains and no refined sugar, canola oil, GMOs, antibiotics or ingredients we can’t pronounce — stuff that belongs in a laboratory, not a kitchen.” Amazing concept, in my opinion! We truly need more places like this, and that’s why it has such great reviews. Try a churro latte on your next visit!
The Garden School
Looking for a different, but amazing school option for your kid(s)? Check out The Garden School! This business is also located in Marietta (a bit North – almost to Kennesaw or Woodstock). The Garden School of Marietta is “deeply inspired by forest schooling and the Waldorf curriculum.” Their school days are held in outdoor classrooms and locations across the 13+ acres of woods, wetlands, farm land, and of course, the garden. Their learning environment is truly one-of-a-kind. They offer a caregiver and me program called Baby Garden, have an early childhood program, and also offer all elementary and middle school grades, through 8th grade. The children do not just learn about the land, though, if that is what you are thinking. The Garden School has a rigorous curriculum – especially their upper grades. “During the first four years of grade school, the curriculum slowly expands from the experiential (play-based) learning of kindergarten to include more lesson work.
The curriculum and class environments are designed to allow children to enjoy the innocence of childhood. Families are encouraged to limit media exposure to maintain healthy routines at home that allow their children to fully experience childhood without the worries and cares of adult life.Moving into the upper grades is an exciting time in a student’s academic life, when the strong foundation built in the early years allows for rapid acceleration. Students participate in special activities that nurture their sense of adventure and exploration, and reflect their growing individuality and critical-thinking skills. Foreign language classes started in Kindergarten continue through the upper grades (Spanish, Mandarin, and ASL) with the intention that they will be fluent in all three languages by the time they graduate 8th grade.”
Chapes-JPL
A company with amazing reviews that can help with your finances? Count me in! Chapes-JPL is located right off of Lenox Road, in Buckhead. If you are trying to make extra cash (maybe to fund your lunch at Good Kitchen, or your kids school), go here to pawn designer handbag in Atlanta. They are the highest rated pawn shop in Atlanta – and have been for over 40 years! They say, “At Chapes-JPL, we conduct our business by appointment only in private upscale offices. Our waiting rooms contain plush leather sofas, fine furnishings and artwork. Reminiscent of an attorney, CPA or doctor’s office, we provide our clients a safe, comfortable and discreet environment. Unlike a bank we loan strictly on the collateral and don’t require credit checks, tax returns, job verification or personal references. And the typical loan is done in minutes, not days or weeks. One more thing about Chapes-JPL, we are required to secure a pawnbrokers license because we do hold the collateral. This, however, is the only similarity between Chapes-JPL and your typical pawnshop.
Since Chapes-JPL is a bonafide collateral lender, it is required by law to maintain a pawn license. However, Chapes-JPL is nothing like any other pawnbroker you can imagine. Three minutes in our offices are all you will need to discover how we have truly raised the bar and set new competitive standards for the legitimate collateral lending industry. We have been in business for over 40 years and have interest rates as low as 3%. Find out about Chapes-JPL for yourself and discover how simple, safe and satisfying your borrowing experience can be.”
Storico Fresco Alimentari e Ristorante
Last but not least, I have to leave you all with one of my favorite restaurants that is pretty close to Chapes-JPL, right off of Lenox Road, as well. Storico Fresco is a really fresh and pretty authentic italian restaurant. It is the perfect place for a parents night out! The place is busy at night, but it is well worth the crowd + wait. Highly recommended! The steak salad is so, so good. Everyone raves about this restaurant
